The clock is ticking…

Yesterday, I finally put my name in the hat to get a ticket to the Antiques Roadshow event being taped on June 9 at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park.

I would assume that thousands of people in Colorado  — and elsewhere — would like to attend, fingers crossed.

But, time marches on: The deadline to register is February 19, 2020.

If you live within 60 miles of Estes Park you can submit furniture, but that does not apply to me. None of my furniture would be in the class of the amazing pieces that show up on that program, like the show where experts/appraisers went into a swoon over a table made in Philadelphia that wound up at auction for half a million dollars.

The last time I went to one of these events was 20 years ago at Currigan Hall (which is no more, unfortunately). The pieces I took were things my father had brought back from China more than 70 years ago. The Asian experts weren’t impressed, though I learned that many people in China have personal chopsticks (even though these were silver, but that’s OK).  Still, it was fun to walk around and look at amazing things.

Below are links to how to get tickets to the Antiques Roadshow taping in June, to a story in The Denver Post last November, and to a story on 9News last month.
