When the Denver Architecture Foundation sponsored the 2019 edition of Doors Open Denver in late September, organizers asked photographers to submit images for judging by Samantha Johnston. Juror Johnston, the executive director of the Colorado Photographic Arts Center, received 246 submissions and narrowed them down to 30 images.
The online exhibition — “Y/Our Denver” — has been a good way to reflect on some of Denver’s most interesting buildings. The exhibition will be available through Dec. 31, 2019.
The link below will lead to the winners – Best in Show, Best Exterior, Best Interior, and Best Detail — along with 26 other photographers. I chose Best Detail for the image at the top of this post because it has striking, even disorienting angles found on one of the city’s most important buildings.
