So it’s time for another “week” in Denver.

In August, Denver had Modernism Week. In September, Denver had Doors Open Denver, granted, over a weekend. Now, in October, it is time for Denver Design Week, which runs  from Thursday, October 17, through October 25.

Denver Design Week is loaded with talks, panels, commercial opportunities for viewing, a discussion on the Martin Building renovation going on at the Denver Art Museum (designed by Gio Ponti), and presentations on design issues.  The publication Modern in Denver has been a stalwart in terms of including information on various events for the past few weeks.

The best way to make your way through all of this is at the links below to Denver Design Week, where you will find the full schedule, and Eventbrite, where the important details are included. There is a pass for $275 that basically covers all of the events, while one-off tickets weigh in for $10 or $15 per person.

And since we are talking about design here, the last link will lead you to Westword’s cover story last week by art and architecture critic and historian Michael Paglia on the 10 best downtown buildings over the past few years. It is heartening to remember that there are gems in the middle of the mud we’ve been facing for the past decade. And the images are gorgeous.
